Just as the study of light has evolved through new discoveries, the aim was to create a video that suggests further possibilities opened up by Eco-Drive technology.

Using the 50th-anniversary limited edition Eco-Drive PHOTON, the video explains how the Eco-Drive mechanism converts even the smallest amount of ambient light into electrical power to drive the watch. Set in an abstract space and evoking neon streetlights or rays of light piercing the darkness, the video depicts the entire process through which the Eco-Drive keeps time—from photons striking the solar cells to power storage, IC chip control, and the driving of the motor and gears.
