Lights and Shadows
Milan Salone|2008
For Milano Salone 2008, the international furnishing accessories exhibition, WOW collaborated in Tokyo Wonder, a joint exhibition with Curiosity and Tonerico, with the installation Lights and Shadows. This work explores the chaotic beauty of a Tokyo night view. With its peculiar refined scenic beauty, Lights and Shadows is a more sensual experience rather than cerebral one. About the Exhibition For Lights and Shadows we invested a lot of time in developing a new system that synchronizes 3 computers to project the images. This work was placed at the end of an exhibition hall in complete darkness except for the light from the 3 video projectors employed to create an immense 8×2 meter wide view of a Tokyo nightscape. Both the immense size of the screen, and leaving the exhibition space free of decorations and other distractions, allowed the viewer to be drawn deep within this cityscape.
